| Bio |
Catrina Scullion is a leading Irish soprano with extensive performance experience
Originally from Northern Ireland, Catrina has proved herself a confident and versatile
vocalist, as comfortable in the classical sphere, as in opera and musical theatre.
Catrina is currently studying singing in Dublin with baritone Julian Hubbard and
renowned Vocal Coach Aoife O’Sullivan. She is emerging as a sought after soloist,
having performed in concert in venues around the country and as a guest soloist
for diverse musical projects; from her appearance as soloist for Simon Morgan’s
“Instant Opera” at Electric Picnic 2009 singing opera classics on The Body and Soul
stage, to “Lady Catrina” in the Speigeltent with the Vertical Rhythm Club, singing
Gershwin, to Antrim Choral Society’s Christmas Concert (2008) and Dungannon Choral
Society’s Spring Concert (2009).
As a core member of “Keep up the Classics”, a group conceived by baritone Brendan MacQuaile to perform arias and more popular songs
from musicals in an informal, fun context, Catrina has sung in venues such as The
Pavillion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire, Civic Theatre Tallaght, Moate Theatre Naas and
Ballymena’s Braid Arts Centre. 2008 saw the group’s highly acclaimed performance in Clonard Monastery which was preceeded by
an interview and
performance on UTV Life.
Catrina has toured extensively with her singing; In 2008, as a member of the choir
with the acclaimed PBS show Celtic Woman, Catrina performed in prestigious
venues such as Radio City Music Hall (New York) and the Greek Theatre (Los Angeles)
during a 14 week tour of the United States. From 2003 until 2007 Catrina performed
as a soloist with Michael McGlynn's dynamic Irish choral Group, Anúna.
With them she has toured the UK, Germany and Holland in addition to headlining Newfoundland's
Festival 500 in July 2007.

on Performance as well as having achieved certificates in performance in Musical
Theatre, at the Royal Irish Academy of Music; and Flute and Piano from Trinity College
London. Through Dublin based Opera companies Lyric Opera , Anna Livia Opera and
